An entomology laboratory officer from the World Mosquito Program (WMP) in Yogyakarta, Budi Ariyanto, was doing bloodfeeding for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes with Wolbachia in captivity boxes, Monday (2/9). Only female mosquitoes suck human blood while male mosquitoes are given sugar water because they do not suck human blood. Wolbachia mosquitoes can reduce the number of cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) because these bacteria will suppress the replication of the dengue virus in the body of the Aedes aegypti mosquito which is the vector of transmission of this disease. - JP / Bambang Muryanto / Adi / 19

- JP/Bambang Muryanto/Adi/19
