Two young women in Pamekasan Regency, Madura, East Java, are trying to access high-speed WiFi internet connection in Arek Lancor field, Pamekasan Regency, Sunday (15/9). Provision of internet access speeds of up to 10 Mbps is the first on Madura Island. The Pamekasan Regency Government in cooperation with PT Telkom launched the Pamekasan Digital Society program, by boosting the provision of high-speed internet infrastructure to accelerate the development of human resources in Pamekasan Regency. This effort is to reduce the disparity in the capacity of human resources on the island of Madura compared to other cities in East Java. Dua orang remaja putri di Kabupaten Pamekasan, Madura, Jawa Timur, tengah mencoba akses sambungan internet WiFi berkecepatan tinggi di lapangan Arek Lancor, Kabupaten Pamekasan, Minggu (15/9). Penyediaan akses internet berkecepatan hingga 10 Mbps ini adalah yang pertama di Pulau Madura. Pemerintah Kabupaten Pamekasan bekerjasama dengan PT Telkom melaunching program Pamekasan Digital Society, dengan menggenjot penyediaan infrastruktur internet berkecepatan tinggi untuk mempercepat pembangunan sumber daya manusia di Kabupaten Pamekasan. Upaya ini untuk mengurangi kesenjangan kemampuan SDM masyarakat di Pulau Madura dibanding kota-kota lain di Jawa Timur.Penyediaan infrastruktur internet berkecepatan tinggi untuk pertama kalinya di Pulau Madura tersebut diantaranya, menyediakan sambungan WiFi di sejumlah publik area, 300 sekolah dan pondok pesantren, sambungan internet untuk UKM, pembangunan Broadband Learning Center dan penyediaan akses internet untuk perangkat pemerintah setempat. -JP/Wahyoe Boediwardhana/Adi/19
