Even though in other areas drought-prone areas have caused crop failure, Sidoarjo Regency has succeeded in carrying out the rice harvest, with an average yield of around 10 tons of grain per hectare. It is estimated that this year the rice harvest in Sidoarjo Regency will reach 214 thousand tons of milled dry rice. Seorang buruh tani tengah memanggul padi gabah dalam karung yang baru saja di panen, dalam panen raya padi 2015 di Desa Kalimati, Kecamatan Tarik, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, Kamis (30/7). Meski di daerah lain terjadi rawan kekeringan hingga menyebabkan gagal panen, Kabupaten Sidoarjo justru berhasil melakukan panen raya padi, dengan hasil rata-rata sekitar 10 ton gabah per hektar. Diperkirakan tahun ini panen padi di Kabupaten Sidoarjo mencapai 214 ribu ton gabah kering giling. Pemerintah sendiri mengucurkan bantuan untuk pertanian di Sidoarjo pada tahun 2015 sebesar Rp 44 miliar, disamping bantuan traktor dan mesin pompa air untuk mengatasi kekeringan yang terjadi. -JP/Wahyoe Boediwardhana/Adi/19
